I offer Portable Appliance testing as one of our services this allow your company to comply with Electricity at Work Act Regulation 4 (2)
It is necessary to prevent Danger. All systems shall be maintained so far as reasonably practically possible to prevent such danger.
What does this act mean to you
It is the responsibility of all employers to ensure all electrical equipment used by their employees are safe and pose no risk of injury.
Risk
Appliance are categorised into risk assessments system used by the I.E.E. (Institute of Electrical Engineers) determined by where the appliance is, how the appliance is being used and who is using the appliance
Why
Portable appliance are used every day in the work place. All of these require attention sometime in there working life. Lead, plugs and appliances can become damaged. This may result in Electric Shock or sometimes even Fire.
For this reason appliance require testing by a competent Engineer.
